Bow to the King

All people will bow – it is not a matter of if, but when. Why wait if it will only bring blessings in the midst of life’s ups and downs?

The Secret Formula

Paul’s message is urgent and clear: The church should strive for unity. This unity comes from identity and “comfort” in who Jesus is, understanding ‘humble acknowledgment and humble action lead to Gospel-centered, joyful unity’.

No Matter What

Do you have a favorite band? Consider what happens when they release a new song you really like. Do you keep it a secret or perhaps do you tell everyone you know including the dog? The Apostle Paul encourages you to tell others about your faith, ‘no matter what’ in Philippians 1:12-18. “Preach, no matter what.”

All You Need

Have you ever fallen in love? Perhaps you’ve fallen out of love? How do you know if it’s truly love? Growing up it can be tricky to really know and how we see life & love as we grow older has a tendency to go askew. In Philippians chapter 1 versus 9-11 we get the true-truth about love. Is it really “all you need” as found in song? Paul gives us a God-sized prayer and he is going to pray for one thing, more.

Standout

Have you ever wanted to be famous? I mean really known for something where it’s generally understood in your neighborhood or community – this is who you are; this is how you ‘stand out’? In some way, we all likely want to stand out at our jobs, relationships, school, bank accounts, or even appearances. Do you actively think about how God wants you to stand out for your faith? In Philippians 1:3-8 the Apostle Paul shows us how “God Wants You to Stand Out.”

Seriously – Week 1

For the next few months, we are going to be working our way through the book of Philippians. Paul has many statements throughout this letter that, when we are honest, make Christians go “Seriously?!” While we know that agreeing with Paul the right answer, some of it is crazy. I want us to journey through this letter because I want us to pursue just as much intimacy with Christ as Paul had. I want us to be just as faithful as Paul was. I want my “Seriously?!” to go to “Seriously.”
