We have discovered the joy of being fully invested in the body of Christ.
JC
"We moved to New Braunfels from California in August of 2021 with the intent of raising our children in a community with like-minded individuals. After several months, we found friendship through families at our daughters’ school, but we still felt something deeper was missing. At this time, I also began struggling with anxiety and depression and realized I was not able to handle it on my own.
"By God's grace, we found a church home at Springs Community Church. Previously, we had not been a part of a church community that cast a vision for community and spiritual growth through membership. I had considered myself a believer for years but never had an intimate walk with Christ.
“In the process of moving towards becoming a Member, I ended up grabbing lunch one day with our pastor, John. We chatted through faith, and he asked me to really consider what was at the core of my walk with Jesus. I knew I was growing in faith, but that lunch was when I felt like I got clarity. I kept thinking that I had to be a better guy, attend church regularly, and do the right things. It wasn’t until then that I really began to understand Christ’s never-ending love for me, how He died for me to save me from my sin, and how because of Him, I can have a direct relationship with God. Romans 5:8 says, “God showed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” I didn’t have to be better, I simply had to believe. I was forgiven, free, and made new.
“After this, I expressed a desire to grow in my faith and understanding of Scripture. John, connected me with one of our Elders, Oscar Amaya, who walked alongside me and began discipling me. I started to feel a shift in my heart, became increasingly sensitive to the Spirit, and wanted to serve others in a way I had not before.

"Moving to a new state halfway across the country was a hard change, but it's a decision that has been super positive for our family and two young girls. Since leaving, finding a church family was a top priority for us. In finding the Springs, we truly have found a spiritual family we love deeply and spend a lot of time with.
"We were unfamiliar with the value the Springs placed on membership, as all the churches we had been to prior were more casual about becoming a member. It felt strange at first, but now that we have been committed to the church and the church has been committed to us, our family has grown more in our faith than ever. Becoming members has not only allowed us to feel relationally connected; it has given us a
spiritual push to lean into growth. The accountability we have found in community and belonging has brought some incredible fellowship. Strangers became friends, with many now feeling like family.
Our Family
"Our faith, our family's walk with the Lord, and our marriage have all been revitalized through belonging to a church family. The Springs isn't just a church; it's a body that creates community and fellowship by spreading the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
“The last few months, we have had the opportunity to invest in our marriage through re|engage. It has challenged us to grow in our communication and grace for each other, seeking to serve one another and put each other first. As we have each grown in a deeper understanding of Christ’s love for us, we seek to love each other as Christ loves us. We are being continually transformed, with the goal of not just a great marriage, but of becoming more Christ-like.
"Church has become not just a place we attend on Sundays but a central part of our lives. We find ourselves not just receiving but serving, investing, and building into this community. We have discovered the joy of being fully invested in the body of Christ. Each week brings new blessings and opportunities for growth, and we are grateful to be on this journey of faith together with our Springs family."
