Community

Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

At The Springs, we believe that life is better together. We believe this because we see the theme of living in biblical community taught all throughout Scripture. Our mission for community is to connect people in authentic relationships that lead to spiritual transformation. We believe that life-change happens best in the context of relationships, and Community Groups play a vital role in helping these relationships flourish in the life of the church. In community we are known, loved, cared for, pursued, encouraged, and challenged to be more like Christ.

Community groups are the main way in which discipleship takes place at The Springs. We have married and single groups who meet on a regular basis to connect relationally, study God’s Word, and hold each other accountable. Our goal in community is to live out the “One Another’s” of Scripture, which are God’s instructions on how believers should live life together. It’s from that same Scripture where we derive the Six Pillars of Community. As we search God’s Word, we see that these 6 biblical principles form a healthy framework for thinking through Community Groups help disciple our church body.  (icons below from TL?)

  • Devote Daily – Devote ourselves daily to a personal relationship with Jesus (John 15:5)
  • Pursue Relationally – Pursue deep relationships with one another, based on love and acceptance (Romans 12:10)
  • Counsel Biblically – Offer and receive biblical counsel in all areas of life (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Live Authentically – Live authentically, sharing our honest struggles and victories (James 5:16)
  • Encourage & Admonish Faithfully – Encourage and sharpen one another faithfully towards maturity (Colossians 3:16)
  • Engage Missionally – Engage intentionally with our communities and the world to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20

Having completed Steps 1 through 3 of our Membership Process, connecting to a Community Group at The Springs can take place in one of two ways:

  1. Existing Group – Either through a personal relationship you may already have, or through staff assigning you to a community group, join a current Springs Community Group based on similar life stage, availability, and location.
  2. New Group – Launch a new Community Group with other individuals that are recently new to The Springs. These groups would be assigned based on life stage, availability, and location. IN addition to that, Springs staff will work to identify a leader to oversee the new Community Group.

If you would like to learn more about joining a Community Group, please register for our next Community Launch here (link to our next CG Launch). We believe that life is better when it is done together, and because we know this to be true, our mission for community is to connect people in authentic relationships that lead to spiritual transformation. Community groups are the main way in which discipleship takes place at The Springs. We have both married and single community groups who meet on a weekly basis to connect relationally, study God’s Word, and hold one another accountable in our pursuits of faithfulness. These groups have the goal to live out the “One Another’s” of Scripture, and they are led by our six Community Pillars.

Because our community groups act as the main vehicle for discipleship at The Springs, we ask that all members be a part of a Community Group. So, if you’re still considering whether or not The Springs is the right church home for you, we would highly encourage you to check out our Open Group ministry. This ministry provides a laid-back, casual environment for thinking through if joining a committed and closed community group is right for you. However, if you call The Springs church your home, select the link below to have one of our staff members reach out about next steps!
