1. Have you ever gotten a “fresh start” in life; a new job, relationship, or opportunity, only to realize that you were still struggling with some of the same things? What did that experience teach you about what really changes us?
2. Read Genesis 9:18–28 and compare it with Genesis 8:21. What does Noah’s failure after the flood teach us about humanity’s deepest problem? Then read Ezekiel 36:26–27. How does God’s promise of a new heart point us to the gospel?
3. As you look at Genesis 9:18–28, where do you see yourself tempted to respond to sin the way this family did? What would it look like to bring that part of your heart honestly to Jesus?
4. What is one area where God may be inviting you to stop hiding, stop trying to manage it yourself, and bring it honestly to Jesus?
